05/01: Noc u Tulenich Pasu (CZ)

Saturday night took place one of the most popular races in Czech Republic: Noc u Tulenich Pasu. The weather (foggy) and the cold night (-5ºC to -10ºC) didn't discourage the160 racers to cross th montains of Krkonose.

Results

160 racers, 4 countries, 3 TVs, many spectators at the departure line,... all was ready at 17h to give the start to the 1800m and 20km long itinerary from the main square of the known thermal town Janske Lazne. The itinerary, with many flat parts and one climb with crampons, follows always the ski slopes of the Janske Lazne-Cerna Hora resort. Miroslav Duch was leading from the beginning until the end the race, even if a accident without further consequences at the second descent. Hi crossed the finish line with 2h13m07sec.
On the itinerary B, the young Radoslav Groh showed again his very good condition and won comfortably with 1h27min37sec. This Junior racers is one of the hopes of the Czech teams for the next World Championships that will be hols in Switzerland next February.
The race ended with a party with dinner, beer and live music.
