24/10: All ready for the world fastest Vertical Km in Fully (CH)

This Saturday 24/10 almost 500 athletes will take the start (timed) from 8:45am untill 11:30am. The massive participation of ski mountaineering racers will transform this event in a prelude of the soon starting skimountaineering season. The time to beat is 31'52".

Florent Troillet, Gregory Gachet, Laetita Roux, Marcel Marti, Pierre Bruchez, Reynold Ginier, Jean Pellisier... are some of the names on the startlist of this Vertical Race: 1000m uphill in 1,92kms, following an old track of a cable-train. Kilian Jornet, as well registered with startnumber 2, will finally not attend the race. He is flying today to Malasia for a Sky Running World Cup Race. For sure the goal will be to beat hios record: 31'52". Laetitia Roux, who was training all summer in New Zealand, will try to beat as well the female record (38'09", stalished in 2004 by Cristina Favre-Moretti.

Weather forecast for Saturday is cloudy but without rain and temperatures around 14º. The trail is ready and dry. Already several racers were there today checking the itinerary.
